The Mirador Mine Animation

Working with scientists and engineers in South Africa, USA, Spain and Ecuador we have created this animation to increase awareness of the extreme risk to human life and the environment of a collapse of the Mirador Mine tailings dams. The Minister of Mines was called by the Ecuadorian National Assembly to explain why he was withholding information pertaining to the structure of the dams and the treatment of waste water. He resigned after receiving information that he was to be impeached by the National Assembly for non-appearance, April 27th.
